Save Harsh Reality, Or Else!

harshly-pressed[1]

Hey, folks. I’ve been trying to behave and to stay out of the blogosphere, but something has come up that I must speak about.  I just read Linda Hill’s post about Jason Cushman’s blog, Harsh Reality (check out Linda’s post, here).

While normally I don’t give a tinker’s damn about other bloggers (except for Cordelia’s Mom a/k/a CookieCakes, of course), I must say that Jason Cushman a/k/a Opinionated Man is one of my heroes.  Like me, he blogs without any concern as to consequences.  He says what he thinks at the time he thinks it, and if his readers object to anything he has written, that is their problem, not his.  Like me, he is not afraid of the WordPress gods or their constantly changing rules.

Unlike me, Mr. Cushman has actively involved himself in promoting new bloggers via his re-blogging and his meet-and-greet posts.  Mr. Cushman invites comments from everyone, and responds to those comments (also unlike me – I can’t be bothered speaking to lowly newbies and other bloggers).

If you’ve read Linda Hill’s post (linked to above – jeesh, pay attention!), you know that Mr. Cushman has indicated he might simply close his Harsh Reality blog, rather than deal with the grief of kowtowing to WordPress.  That would be a loss – especially to me.  There is no other blogger I can truly look up to – everyone else is just too nice, too straight-laced, too sheep-like.

I’ve noticed that even CookieCakes, although commenting in support of Mr. Cushman on various blogs, has herself remained silent on this issue in her own blog.  Shame on you, CookieCakes!  Grow a pair and jump into the fray already!  What’s the worst that can happen?  If WordPress gets pissed at you or me and shuts down our respective mirror blogs, we can always go private and take our readers with us.

And here’s an offer to Jason Cushman a/k/a Opinionated Man:  Come on over here and guest post for me.  You know you can say absolutely anything you want on my blog – there’s no way you can be more annoying than I am.  Just ask my readers.

But I do have one rule of my own – you have to bring some of your 51,000+ readers (preferably all of them) over here with you.  I don’t think that would be very hard to do.  You are unique, and people will follow wherever you go.
